250-word Program Description

Mark Scharenbroich’s unconventional approach, knockout humor, and personal stories with universal appeal all focus on the relationship side of creating results, connecting people to people, management to front line, team member to team member, and company to customer.

Part motivational speaker, part thought-provoker, and pure entertainer, Mark Scharenbroich makes this a don’t-miss event. He tells engaging stories, delivers powerful messages, and weaves in an ensemble cast of memorable characters, à la Las Vegas headliners. Plus, the guy is hilarious.

Mark’s Nice Bike principle (illustrated with a story which involves half-a-million Harley bikers, lots of black leather jackets, one beige rental car, and the sincere acknowledgement of what's really important) brings home the value of recognizing, validating and making connections that move people.

Mark’s messages

  • Improve employee engagement,
  • Help people to embrace change,
  • Enhance team collaboration,
  • Fuel the passion to serve others, and
  • Create meaningful connections.

His approach is unconventional, and he provides you with an unforgettable experience.  Having performed in front of 3,500 audiences, Mark’s credentials include an Emmy award, induction into the National Speakers’ Association Hall of Fame, membership with the prestigious Speakers Roundtable, and several international film awards for writing and performing.

Currently, he’s writing his first book about the Nice Bike principle, entitled (what else?) Nice Bike: Making Connections that Move People. Mark and his wife of thirty years, Susan, have partnered in Scharenbroich & Associates since 1984.  They reside in their home state, the frozen tundra (except for three weeks in July) of Minnesota.

Mark Scharenbroich (pronounced “Sharon-brock”) uses his unconventional approach, knockout humor, and personal stories with universal appeal to focus on the relationship side of creating results, connecting people to people, management to front line, team member to team member, and company to customer.

Part motivational speaker, part thought-provoker, and pure entertainer, Mark Scharenbroich makes this a don’t-miss event. He tells engaging stories, delivers relevant messages, and weaves in an ensemble cast of memorable characters, à la Las Vegas headliners. Plus, the guy is hilarious.

Mark’s Nice Bike principle (illustrated with a story that involves half-a-million Harley bikers, lots of black leather jackets, one beige rental car, and the sincere acknowledgement of what's really important) brings home the value of recognizing, validating and making connections that move people.

Mark’s messages

  • Improve employee engagement,
  • Help people to embrace change,
  • Enhance team collaboration,
  • Fuel the passion to serve others, and
  • Create meaningful connections.

The presentation concludes with a powerful message and a resounding, “Boomba, hey!” (You gotta have a big finish!) Beginning to end, his approach is unconventional, and he provides you with an unforgettable experience.  Recognized internationally, Mark’s credentials include an Emmy award, induction into the National Speakers’ Association Hall of Fame, membership with the prestigious Speakers Roundtable, and several international film awards for writing and performing.

While earning a degree in mass communications at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, Mark wrote, directed and performed in a comedy troupe called Mom’s Apple Pie, which won the state talent competition after sharing the stage with a HUGE butter carving of Princess Kaye’s face and a prize 1,527-pound Holstein named Elsie.  The group performed together throughout the Midwest in the ’70s, and when it disbanded, Mark went solo and combined his comedy training with motivational speaking.

Mark was hired by Jostens—the leading manufacturer of class rings, yearbooks and graduation products—to speak to their customers throughout North America.  In 1981 Mark was featured in a film called “The Greatest Days of Your Life … (so far).”  The movie featured Mark speaking to a packed audience of high school students and was seen by over a million viewers worldwide. It earned him the Golden Apple and Silver Screen film awards.  Mark also went on to earn an Emmy award for his ABC television special, “Doin’ Great,” in 1995.

Mark has built his speaking career by working in both education and business, discovering how some of the best organizations and business leaders build a culture that encourages people to perform at a higher level. His messages improve employee engagement, help people to embrace change, enhance team collaboration, fuel the passion to serve others and create meaningful connections.
